Joe Mantegna suddenly catblock / why I like Rossi

There is something about Rossi that is always sweet and hilarious. Gavin de Becker said that men are worried that women would laugh at them, while women are worried that men would kill them (for laughing/rejecting them). Well Rossi had always struck me as the kind of men who wouldn't be afraid or angry at a woman who laughs at him, even if it was in bed. Is this weird? The fact that he stayed friends with his first wife have me reading Rossi less as a man who have failed three marriages, and more as a man who have moved pass three failed marriages (or mistaken match-ups) - his id is not dependent on any conduct of 'his woman'.

I don't know who Gavin de Becker is, but I'm pretty sure that he's paraphrasing a real-life survey/study which posed the question of what concerned a woman or man who was the only person of their gender in a group.

I'm with you on Rossi, though -- he's really grown on me over the course of the last season or two, and it was his interactions with the women of the team that made me start paying him more attention.

Gavin de Becker, a bodyguard and security expert, is the author of The Gift of Fear, an invaluable work on how to trust one's intuition and avoid or escape dangerous situations; he's written two follow-ups, The Gift of Fear, dealing with the protection of children (this one has some useful information regarding the autistic spectrum, including safety hints for the intuition-deficient) and Fear Less, dealing with security in a post-9/11 atmosphere. (The latter two titles, since they contain a lot of repeated material, can be regarded as specialized editions of The Gift of Fear.)

Sorry about that--since I don't have the necessary bells and whistles to edit comments, the title of de Becker's second book is Protecting the Gift.
